Welcome to the Carlyle Park Department Website! Carlyle Parks is a division of the City of Carlyle. To contact Carlyle Parks, please call Dave Redeker, Carlyle Parks Director, at 618-594-5205.
FACILITIES
Carlyle maintains five separate park sites. The Carlyle City Park is the main park for the City. It consists of a full-size and a baby pool, a ball diamond, batting cage, public restrooms, two tennis courts, swing sets and playground complexes, four shelters and a 9-hole Frisbee golf course. The Carlyle City Park is set among pretty surroundings with several trees and hills. It’s a great place to take a walk or ride a bike.
The Fish Hatchery Park is another popular park maintained by the City. This park is named for the catch-and-release pond located here in which children 14 and under can fish. The Fish Hatchery Park also has a playground complex and an indoor shelter that is popular for get-togethers.
Carlyle also maintains the Old City Park, also known as Maple Hill Park, Bruemmer Park and the West Water Tower Park. The Old City Park has a playground complex, a shelter and two ball diamonds. It is also adjacent to the Carlyle Grade School. Bruemmer Park is home to Carlyle’s newest playground complex and an outdoor, concrete basketball court. The West Water Tower Park also has an outdoor basketball court and a swing set.
PROGRAMS
Not only does the Carlyle Parks Department maintain facilities, it also provides programming services for children
and adults. Carlyle Parks organizes summer baseball and softball leagues and fall/winter basketball leagues. It offers weekly, summer camp programs for kids providing them fun and educational activities.
All summer camps run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Camp programs take place between 10:00 and 12:15, and lunch is provided from 12:15 to 1:00. Swimming is provided between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. All campers receive a free t-shirt. Each camp costs $30. Registration forms are available by contacting the Park Department (618-594-5205) or City Hall (618-594-2468) or by clicking here.
Every year, Carlyle Parks organizes “Carlyle Park and Recreation” night at Busch Stadium for a home St. Louis Cardinals game. In 2006, tickets were sold-out and people were placed on a waiting list to obtain extras.
