IHSA State Bass Fishing Finals                        The City of Carlyle hosts the annual State Bass Fishing Finals at Carlyle Lake.  High school fishing teams from around the State descend on Carlyle Lake to fish for largemouth bass.  Professional-style weigh-ins typically start at 3:00 p.m., and the City hosts a public event to coincide.  Admission is free.  For more information, visit the IHSA website here.                                                                            Dave Redeker,                                       City of Carlyle:                                    (618) 594-2468

19 Gateway Triathlon at Carlyle Lake
The Midwest’s biggest event racing company 3 Disciplines is kicking off the 2013 racing season with the Gateway Triathlons and Duathlon in Carlyle, Illinois.  Choose from the sprint distance (500m swim, 20k bike, 5k run) or olympic distance (1000m swim, 40k bike, 10k run).

The local Cub Scout troop is organizing several activities including a youth fishing derby.  Starts at 9:00 a.m., located at the Carlyle Fish Hatchery.  Event to include a rain gutter regatta as well.

29 July 4th Fireworks
The July 4th Fireworks will be held on Saturday, June 29 this year.  Bring your blanket, lawn chair, or boat cause we shoot 'em over the Lake near Dam West.  Top of the Dam is a great spot for viewing.  Ten out of ten scientists agree -- fireworks are better over water.

8-12 Parks Camp - Baseball Camp
Conducted by the Carlyle Rec. Dept. campers will be taught fundamentals of hitting, fielding, pitching, base running, and throwing.  There will also be a live game to practice game situations.

Conducted by several former and current Carlyle cheerleaders.  The campers will get to learn many cheers and dances.  A presentation will follow on Friday.

13 Great Kaskaskia River Duck Race                                  Visit Carlyle and the Kaskaskia River to watch rubber ducks race down the river.  See if your duck is plucked for one of the many prizes including $5,000.  All proceeds benefit the Healthcare Foundation.  The Pluck is at 12:00 p.m. at the West Spillway. 13 Carlyle Rotary Youth Fishing Derby                                Prior to the Duck Race, the Carlyle Rotary Club hosts a youth fishing derby from the west bank of the Kaskaskia River, located in the Lake Spillway.  Youth aged 12 and under are invited to participate in this free event.  Every participant receives a prize.  Participants must be accompanied by an parent or adult guardian.  Derby begins at 8:00 a.m. Michelle Scott:(618) 594-4515

15 Clinton County Fair Parade                                              Another Fair tradition is the County Fair Parade held every Monday in Carlyle, the week of the Fair.  The Fair is a great event to enjoy a summer evening of family fun, watching the decorative and creative floats constructed by Clinton County organizations and clubs. Children will make different crafts and will play different water games.  They will also participate in a combination of indoor/outdoor games.

18 & 19 Haunted Trail                                                                  The Haunted Trail is a delightfully spooky place to visit during the Halloween season!  Brave souls embark from the Carlyle McDonald's on a hay ride to the Little Prairie Nature Trail, located on U.S. Army Corps grounds near the Lake Spillway, where your hike on the Trail will begin.  Proceeds from the Trail support the July 4th fireworks every year.  Check back for more information on details, including start times. 19 Pumpkin Patch                                                                  Hosted by the Carlyle Parks Department, the Pumpkin Patch provides Halloween-themed games, crafts, and snacks for kids.  Held at the Fish Hatchery Park, located on Franklin Street ("Old" U.S. 50) at its intersection with Sand Ridge Road.  Begins at 9:00 am, concludes at 1:00 pm.  $10 admission per child.  City Park:  (618) 594-5205

22 Carlyle Rotary Club Trivia Night to End Polio                      The Carlyle Rotary Club hosts the third annual Trivia Night to End Polio at Governors Run, located at 3300 Governors Run.  Event begins at 7:00 p.m.  Teams of up to ten persons are invited to form for the competition and to compete for cash prizes.  Admission is $10 per person.  Proceeds from the event are donated to Rotary International's "PolioPlus" efforts to eradicate polio. 1-5 Final Leaf Vacuum of the Season                                         The Street Department is planning to make their final pass of the season through Carlyle for leaf vacuuming.  Leaves should be piled within seven feet of a street edge or curb, but not on the curb or within ditches.  Only people who reside on 12th or Franklin Streets are permitted to place their leaves in the alley for vacuuming.  City Hall:  (618) 594-2468
