Information on events and happenings for Christmas in Carlyle 2011 follows:
Christmas Lights in the City Park
The City expects to flip the switch for the famous Christmas Lights in the City
Park at dusk on Friday, November 25, 2011. The Christmas Lights
will stay on in the Park for the entire Christmas Season. Take a drive
through the City Park to view the lights! They are pretty great!
Christmas Parade & Fireworks
The Christmas Parade will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 beginning at
6:30 p.m. The Parade will begin at 11th and Fairfax Streets, and will
head east until reaching 5th Street, where the Parade will turn north on its way
to the City Park. Anyone interested in participating in the Parade should
call Flowers by Tess at 618-594-3666 to register a spot. After the Parade,
the public is invited to join us at the City Park for the Christmas Fireworks.
Santa Claus will be available for photos, to be taken by Traditions Portrait &
Design. Refreshments will also be available.
Breakfast with Santa
Santa is scheduled to stay in Carlyle through Saturday, December 3, 2011
for Breakfast with Santa to take place at the Mariner's Village Conference
Center and at the Bretz Lodge & Winery.
Breakfast with Santa activities will take place between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. and will include a hot breakfast and Christmas programming for kids. For more information, contact the Lighthouse Grill at the Mariners Village at 866-456-1081 or Bretz Lodge at 618-594-8830.
Bake Sale & Santa Claus at the Firehouse
The Carlyle Junior High and High School bands will host a bake sale at the
Carlyle Firehouse on Saturday, December 3, 2011 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
We're checking Santa's people to find out more about when he will at the
Firehouse to meet with children. Check back soon!
