St. Joseph's Hospital Carlyle Health Fair
St. Joseph's Hospital has scheduled its 2007 Health Fair in Carlyle for Tuesday, March 4.  Admission to the Health Fair is free, but screenings and tests are offered with payment of a fee.  Registration for the Health Fair is recommended.  For questions, please call 618-526-5439.

City-Wide Clean-Up Week 
This service is offered only to City of Carlyle residents.  A dumpster will be placed inside the fence at the Street & Alley Maintenance shed, at 1811 Washington Street, for items that may be brought and dumped.  If bringing items to the Street & Alley shed for dumping, please bring proof of residency.  The dumpster will be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Large, heavy metal objects, such as refrigerators, freezers, etc. will be picked up from residences if set out at the alley or street.  Items that will be accepted for dumping include, among other things, yard waste, EMPTY paint and oil cans, and old tires without rims.  No tractor tire or semi-trailer tires or batteries (car, tractor, etc.) will be accepted.  For more information, please call City Hall at 594-2468.

2-4   Spring City Wide Garage Sale                                                By popular demand, Carlyle will host a second city wide garage sale in 2008, this one scheduled for May 2-4.  The Spring sale will be a event to attend with a tentatively scheduled "Battle of the Bands," a "Man-in-Black" concert, and a chicken dinner.  Check back soon for more information on this weekend event, or call the City Hall at 618-594-2468.

"Blessing of the Fleet"
The Carlyle Sailing Association will host the 2008 "Blessing of the Fleet."  Everyone with a floating vessel is invited to participate in the boat "blessing" parade.  The best place to view the Blessing will be from the Olympic Pavilion just north of the CSA facilities.  The public is invited and welcome to attend.  For more information on this event, please contact the City Hall at 618-594-2468.

7 Carlyle Sailing Association Visitors’ Day
The Carlyle Sailing Association is a nonprofit sailing club that promotes family sailing and racing.  Annually, CSA hosts a Visitor's Day and invites the public to learn how to sail.  CSA is located at 20960 Hazlet Park Road in Eldon Hazlet State Park.  For more information on CSA, visit them on the Internet

28   Carlyle Sailing Association Blessing of the Fleets
Opening ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m.  The Blessing Boat will be anchored at the south end (dam end) of the Lake south of CSA and Phillippi Harbor in the middle of the Lake.  All boaters are welcome to participate in the event.  For more information, contact CSA at 314-395-9550 or visit them on the Internet at www.csa-sailing.org

Celebrate Independence Day at Carlyle Lake!  Events and live music will be scheduled for the day and will conclude with the fireworks display in the evening.  Watch from your boat or from the shore or on top of the dam.  Sponsored by the Carlyle Lake Chamber of Commerce.

12 The Great Kaskaskia River Duck Race

25   Smoke Over the Water FFA Benefit Tractor Pull                    The third annual Smoke Over the Water Tractor Pull will be held August 23, 2007 at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Carlyle.  The event will feature the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League (as seen on ESPN2) as well as tractors and trucks from the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association and Illinois Hot Farm Stock.  Food, drink, games and music will also be scheduled.  Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. and the pull starts at 6:00 p.m.  Admission will be $15 for adults and $5 for kids with proceeds benefiting Clinton County FFA organizations.  For more information on the event, contact Mr. Scott Diekemper at 618-407-7832.

13-14 Carlyle Lake Wine & Art Festival

13-14 Carlyle Sailing Association Whale of a Sail
