City-Wide Clean-Up Week
This service is offered only to City of Carlyle residents. A dumpster will be placed inside the fence at the Street & Alley Maintenance shed, at 1811 Washington Street, for items that may be brought and dumped. If bringing items to the Street & Alley shed for dumping, please bring proof of residency. The dumpster will be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Large, heavy metal objects, such as refrigerators, freezers, etc. will be picked up from residences if set out at the alley or street. Items that will be accepted for dumping include, among other things, yard waste, EMPTY paint and oil cans, and old tires without rims. No tractor tire or semi-trailer tires or batteries (car, tractor, etc.) will be accepted. For more information, please call City Hall at 594-2468. |

city wide garage sale in 2008, this one
scheduled for May 2-4. The Spring sale
will be a event to attend with a tentatively
scheduled "Battle of the Bands," a
"Man-in-Black" concert, and a chicken dinner.

"Blessing of the Fleet."
Everyone with a floating vessel is invited to
participate in the boat "blessing" parade.
The best place to view the Blessing will be from

Smoke Over the Water FFA Benefit Tractor Pull
The third annual Smoke Over the Water Tractor
Pull will be held August 23, 2007 at the Clinton
County Fairgrounds in Carlyle. The event
will feature the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League
(as seen on ESPN2) as well as tractors and
trucks from the Illinois Tractor Pulling
Association and Illinois Hot Farm Stock.
Food, drink, games and music will also be
scheduled. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m.
and the pull starts at 6:00 p.m. Admission
will be $15 for adults and $5 for kids with
proceeds benefiting Clinton County FFA
